Lisa Gonzalez discusses Nature & Resilient Communities at October Walk in the Woods
Lisa Gonzalez, HARC’s President and CEO, spoke at the Walk in the Woods event presented by the Walk in the Woods on Thursday, October 11, 2018. The event was held from 6 pm until 7:30 pm at HARC’s headquarters located at 8801 Gosling Road, The Woodlands.
The program began with a walk around HARC’s facility with views of the restorative landscaping design featuring native plants and bioswales. The event culminated with Lisa’s presentation “Working with
Nature to Build Resilient Communities” – discussing the need for regional resilience and HARC’s work in that area.
The program series is hosted by The Woodlands Township and encourages residents to learn more about the local natural environment and different types of plants and animals that inhabit this area. The Township hosts a different program each month from February through April and September through November.
The mission of The Woodlands Township Environmental Services Department is to empower informed choices for the sustained health of our community and environment. The department coordinates a wide variety of programs that provide information and resources for healthy, sustainable living.
