CEBN/HARC Event: Harnessing Texas Energy Leadership for New Economic Opportunities
Leaders from around the country gathered at HARC for the Clean Energy Business Network (CEBN) forum on clean energy business and policy issues. The event included panel discussions, an industry showcase, a networking reception, and tours of HARC's state-of-the-art LEED Platinum-certified building. This event marked the launch of the new CEBN ‘Power Circuit’ forum series on clean energy development. HARC president Lisa Gonzalez welcomed attendees to the free event with perspectives on the work of HARC in the realm of clean energy. CEBN President Lynn Abramson presided over the critical discussions of the day.
Clean energy encompasses renewable energy such as wind and solar, along with energy efficiency. More than 70 participants from various sectors of the energy industry, research, and policy communities exchanged ideas on the state of clean energy, success stories, and challenges. Experts explored challenges and opportunities for innovation and growth of clean energy technologies and implications for local and global economies. Dr. Rich Haut, Director of the Environmentally Friendly Drilling Systems Program at HARC, moderated the panel discussion “From Fossil to New Ventures” on the segue of fossil fuels to clean energy.
