Maya Houston

Maya Houston is the Director of Development for HARC, and is responsible for establishing and implementing a sustainable fundraising strategy and infrastructure for the organization. She manages HARC’s annual fundraising plan, with a focus on flexible and project-based funding, stewardship, and retention.

Ms. Houston is HARC’s primary source of contact for HARC’s philanthropic contributions and fundraising events. She builds upon HARC’s current partnerships, establishes new connections, and further develops philanthropic relationships to help HARC achieve its financial goals.

Ms. Houston has over 20 years of experience in fundraising and philanthropic development. Prior to working at HARC, she built or enhanced fundraising programs at various organizations, including Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business, the Houston Zoo, Houston Public Library Foundation, University of Houston’s Bauer College of Business, and Houston Christian High School. In working with organizations, her goal is to communicate that organization’s mission through events, small group meetings and conversations, connecting the right people with that mission in a way that helps everyone to achieve their goals.

Ms. Houston earned an MBA from Rice University. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut.
