Community Engagement

Marie Israel is an Associate focused on community engagement, using research and data to better serve communities. Her work includes supporting research for several initiatives, some of which include the Cynthia and George Mitchell Foundation-funded land conservation project, ForUsTree, and climate pollution reduction grant projects. Through this work, she helps connect communities with resources and opportunities that strengthen resilience.

Marie works across a range of resilience initiatives, including in energy, climate action plans, and nature-based solutions. She supports survey design, facilitates focus groups, and analyzes qualitative and quantitative data to identify community needs and barriers. She helps translate these insights into actionable recommendations that inform outreach strategies and project planning.

With a background in communications, Marie brings expertise in messaging, digital engagement, and public-facing materials to ensure complex information is accessible, clear, and actionable. Prior to working at HARC, Marie worked in communications within the clean beauty space. She first worked as a Communications Lead for a start-up B2C e-commerce brand and then as a Social Media Manager for a local skincare clinic.
