Mr. Bob Travis is the Vice President of Business Operations for HARC. During his career, he has worked with organizations spanning the nonprofit, higher education, and hospital industries. With over forty years of experience in both the private and nonprofit sectors, he has effectively managed and thoughtfully stewarded the financial health of each of these organizations.
Mr. Travis came to HARC from higher education, including appointments as Department Administrator in the University of Texas System and more recently as Senior Contract and Grants Administrator for the University of Houston. He is highly analytical yet collaborative across all functions to support the organization’s mission to provide independent analysis on energy, air, and water issues to people seeking scientific answers.
In his role, Mr. Travis oversees all the financial functions of HARC. He and his team are responsible for the budget planning and reporting and ensure the availability and stability of the resources, both human and systems, to support the research function. In addition, he supports the executive management team by offering insights and financial advice that will allow the best business decisions for HARC to be made.
Mr. Travis graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Baylor University and an MBA degree from the University of Texas at Tyler. In his spare time, he creates custom wooden frames for art and photography.
