Climate Equity Advisory Council

Since 2019, Rachel Flores has proudly served on the operations engineering team at a midstream oil and gas company with assets in South Texas, West Texas, Wyoming/Utah, and Colorado.

Prior to joining the oil and gas industry, Ms. Flores helped found a health care service provider in San Antonio, held leadership roles in health care in Houston, and has extensive experience in higher education initiatives that afforded her the opportunity to work at Harvard University, as well as high-risk schools in San Antonio and Dallas.

A native Texan who grew up on a horse ranch in a family of nine siblings, she was the first to attend college and experienced first-hand inequity to clean water, health care and food quality, as a youth. Her love of learning and innate curiosity has led her to a myriad of experiences and interest in climate equity for Texas.

Ms. Flores holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of North Texas, a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Texas, and a master’s degree from Rice University.

Ms. Flores lives in The Woodlands with her teenage children, Iris and Leo and in her free time, enjoys walking, practicing yoga, painting, gardening, visiting museums, and reading.
