Dr. Evelyn McDaniel is a retired educator living in League City, Texas, with her husband John. With a career spanning post-secondary and collegiate roles, including classroom instructor and associate dean, she focused on helping disadvantaged students achieve upward mobility through directed programs and grant writing. Dr. McDaniel treasured the moments when former students returned to share their successes or when students shared that they were “the first” in their family or neighborhood to achieve certain milestones
An advocate for allied health careers, Dr. McDaniel published research and served in leadership positions within professional organizations. She was a board member with both the Riverside General Hospital and St. Elizabeth Hospital in Houston, Texas. Dr. McDaniel’s strong faith-based background has led her to be actively involved in various church ministries, many of which are community ministries. She also serves as the Superintendent of the Sunday School and is a member of the Planning Committee for New Church Construction.
Dr. McDaniel holds a doctorate in Allied Health Education and Administrative Leadership from the University of Houston, a master’s in educational leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University, and two bachelor’s degrees from Creighton University and The College of Biblical Studies.
