Alexandra Castañeda is currently a Grant Manager focused on funding initiatives to reduce emissions in Texas. With over six years of experience in public policy and grants management, she previously served as the Federal Environmental Justice Program Manager at an environmental non-profit, advocating for climate justice and equity. In that role, she leveraged federally funded programs like the Inflation Reduction Act and other infrastructure investments to support underserved communities in South Texas. She also guided South Texas community leaders on utilizing the Justice40 initiative to benefit their communities.
Her commitment to social equity was shaped during her time as a Grant Writer and Project Manager in Webb County, where she witnessed firsthand the immense challenges faced by impoverished Colonias lacking fundamental infrastructure.
Ms. Castañeda’s vision is a sustainable future where all voices are heard, and environmental benefits, equitable distribution, and access to federal funds are ensured for all communities.
