Alan Watkins is a Principal at Enduring Strategies with extensive leadership in faith-based and nonprofit organizations. He served as Executive Director of the Houston Housing Collaborative (HHC) from 2021 to 2024, where he established credibility in addressing housing challenges and advocated for policy changes.
Previously, as Vice President and Senior Community Relations Manager for Wells Fargo, Alan led Community Reinvestment Act initiatives in the Houston area, achieving a significant upgrade in the MSA’s rating from Satisfactory to Outstanding. He managed key philanthropic investments, lending activities, and volunteerism during his nine-year tenure. Mr. Watkins improved the Community Reinvestment Act rating for the Houston area and managed key philanthropic initiatives. He has served on various nonprofit boards and task forces, including the Harris County COVID-19 Housing Stability Taskforce, and received the 2020 Community Advocate Award from the Homeless Coalition for his efforts.
Prior to that, Alan directed three nonprofits at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, managing a transitional living center for homeless women and children. Mr. Watkins holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Morehouse College and a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary.
