Galveston Bay Regional Monitoring Database is Now Live!

08.08.2022

The Houston Advanced Research Center (HARC) is pleased to launch the first phase of the Galveston Bay Regional Monitoring Database (RMD), now available at https://new.galvbaydata.org/. The RMD is an interactive portal equipped with quality-assured data to support conservation, management, and research related to the Galveston Bay system. The project’s goal is to create a centralized resource with quick access to relevant information and data.

The RMD’s first phase presents two main components: the Data Catalog and Data Download features. Users can search for, review, and download 28 datasets across the following categories: Human Role, Water and Sediment Quality, Bay and Public Health, Freshwater Inflows, Habitat, Fisheries and Wildlife, and Invasive Species. A simple click on the Download button provides access to selected data and associated meta-information. The Feedback Submission Tool allows users to provide comments and suggestions, or to ask questions.

Phase Two of the project, currently in development, is scheduled to be completed next year and will offer additional datasets, dynamic download capabilities, and interactive tools to enhance the user experience.

Sign up now for the RMD Newsletter to stay informed with updates and the latest project information.

This project is funded with a grant from the United States Environmental Protection Agency through the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality’s Galveston Bay Estuary Program.
